Square Dog Friday. . . and the rains came

The older I get the faster the week goes.
Here it is Friday again and of course the best day of the week.
It is Square Dog Friday !
woof
.
We have had rain almost everyday and even though it is
monsoon time the storms are very winter like.
The valley is covered in clouds off and on and it will rain in the morning or night.

Not like a monsoon. You start the day with blue skies,
big fluffy clouds building till the afternoon storm sweeps by in waves.
Rain pounding down then gone in a minute.

Friday morning rain, looks like a winter storm
but feels like summer.
.......
 Here for a minute...

 gone in a second.

    1. What news ?
Yes we have have some of the Summer rains here. As the Native People call them the male rains. Lots of noise and destruction where the Winter rains are female, they are quiet and nourishing to the land.
On Monday we had 60 MPH zoom through my land that ripped the sunscreens off the pool and front yard and my trees took a beating.

  3. Thehamish looks adorable scrunched down in the corner of the sofa like that. Every dog we've ever had hated thunderstorms. Our cats don't like them, either. Not that they've had to put up with many of them lately. We're in the middle of what's been officially called an "extreme drought." Hot and humid, but no rain. Sorry you've been having so much of it.

Happy 4th! Give that sweet boy an extra piece of chicken. :)

    1. I have read that many places need rain but oh my goodness it was nice to see some rain here. We have very little rain last winter so I am happy to stand outside and get wet.

  6. Cheer up Hamish- thunder won't harm you even if you don't like the noise. Tess doesn't like it either and gets well out of the way.

  11. Dear Parsnip, thank you for showing us more photographs of how the rain stages its arrival, stay and departure. Outdoors the sky changes are dramatic. Indoors, thehamish provides his own testimony.

Thank you also for letting us see another of your beautiful drawings. Selfishly, I would be happy for you to show us some more...as the mood suits you.

Happy 4th of July to you and thehamish. xo

We have afternoon thunderstorms here, too. The morning statts off fine, then the middle of the afternoon sees rain, sometimes LOTS of rain! At least it isn't winter rain though, so we aren't chilled when we get soaked!
