Wednesday in Japan. . . sake, shochu, umeboshi and peppers

Yes, we are still alive and as always I am on thehamish watch.
But even as jailer of thehamish I have to eat.
As I was chopping up my lunch to stir-fry something up,
I just thought how pretty all my favorite Japanese spice bottles look.

Waahaa here are just a few.

The three bottles in the back are saka bottles.
Plus the ceramic one on the left was bought on the top of Mt. Fuji.
Everything in front are soy sauce, yuzu, pepper and some mashed umeboshi.
.

.
To put the soy sauce in I have several soy sauce containers.
Sometimes when guest come I will put out several of them.
My favorite one of course is the yellow one with tiny bunny.

..................

Of course just because I can here is your mid week pretty.
thehamish cute bum with broken tail.

Here are thehamish bad back legs.
You can see somewhat the problem.
He has alway had what I call his pigeon toed walk.
But now because of his two blown out ACL his back paws meet in the middle.
The ACL on right one was damaged before. It is now moving over so much
to the left it has been tripping him up sometimes.
Oh Woe !

umeboshi. . . parsnip

  2. Love the little soy bottles. I was wondering what kind of souvenir to look for in Japan. Tell Hamish not to worry about being pigeon-toed, I am too, it makes for a sexy walk.

  3. Dear Parsnip, your Japanese containers are wonderful to see. We are lucky to have many shops here featuring Japanese products. I know it's not the same as actually visiting Japan, but I do love visiting them and having a bit of fantasy travel as I look at the merchandise, particularly the food items.

Does thehamish ever watch videos of fashion runway shows? Lots of models have pigeon-toed walks, along with legs somewhat longer than the gud dog's.

Best wishes to you all. xo

    1. I would love to live in NY with all the fabulous shops. That is what I miss about when I lived in California.
In the photo above you can see the pigeon toe legs but now one has gone so far under the other.

  5. I love your collection of bottles from Japan! Do you like umeboshi? I think many people who aren't familiar with it won't like the taste so much :-) Your soy sauce containers are very pretty. I like one with tiny bunny on top, too!
Really sorry for thehamish's damaged legs. I hope he is doing well. He is such a sweetheart xoxo
