Here it is the day you have all been waiting for,
Square Dog Friday !
We all know the drill so let's hit it !
Woof !
.......
thehamish always wanted to be the #1 gud dug.
He would try to be the first one out or in the door ,
First for dinner or treats. But deep in his heart he knew Watson was # 1.
Even as Watson grew older plodded along never pushing thehamish out of the way,
we all knew Watson was the leader of the pack.
Watson only snapped twice at thehamish in his life.
But Watson was thehamish's touchstone. No matter where Watson was
thehamish would find him and crush in.
He had to be near Watson at all times and Watson looked after him.
When the vet would take thehamish away Watson was at the door fussing
till thehamish was brought back and given a good sniff over. Then he would be quiet.
Watson was very good to him and now that he is gone thehamish is adrift.
A few photos in no order.

YeeHaw !
Watson is missed by many. What a pair of buddies those two were.
ReplyDeleteLike peas in a pod. Good luck with the surgery and hugs to thehamish!
ReplyDeleteYes. I did not know how to describe it until you so accurately put it into words for me tonight. My Pip is 'adrift' since her Buzzy has left us. Now, more than ever I so very much understand and my heart hurts for thehamish. Sending hugs to you both. X
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures. I'm sure you all miss Watson like mad.
ReplyDeleteMaybe after the Hamish has recovered a new friend will come along for him...and this time HE will be the #1 alpha in the house! :)
Please give H a kiss on the nose from me!

My thoughts too, Jennifer. It would be good for Hamish to be leader of the pack.
DeleteAll the best, Hamish.
Those photos really tell the story of the T.L.S.D. We have only one dog but another comes to stay for a week or so and they are great friends. I love it when they deceide to share a bed for a quick snooze, but over night they always go to separate beds - and in separate rooms.
ReplyDeleteScratch-a-tail for thehamish.
What sweet and touching photos of thehamish and Watson. I can easily see they were really good friends and cared for each other.
ReplyDeleteI hope the surgery will go smoothly. Sending hugs xoxo
Such lovely pictures of the sweet boys. It's so hard when a dear friend is gone.
ReplyDeleteWe should all be so lucky to have such a friend.
ReplyDeleteThey look so sweet together. It's hard to go on without one's best buddy.
ReplyDeleteWhat good friends! I feel so bad for Hamish now that he's without Watson. I hope his surgery goes okay.
ReplyDeleteSuch adorable pups. It squeezes my heart to see pictures of the two of them together, so I can imagine how seeing them makes you feel. I think everyone who reads your blog has fallen in love with your four-legged boys. I know I have.
ReplyDeleteWonderful friends... Both for each other and for you. Best wishes for the surgery hon.
ReplyDeleteBee
So hard to lose your best friend, you and Hamish. Hope the surgery goes well and that he's on he's feet/paws again.
ReplyDeleteLoved the pictures. It seems so strange now to only see one little square dog in your photos. Hugs to Watson.
Such sweet memories you have. I love the last pic especially!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for the surgery xxxxx
ReplyDeleteHair Ball and Sir Poops never wanted me to know how much they loved each other. I didn't realize it until 2 years ago, the night Sir Poops was gasping to breath. Hair Ball was by his side. Three weeks after, Hair Ball was there to aid and share...even his food bowl. Then, for a bit Sir Poops seemed to get better, but then...yeah. Hair Ball misses Sir Poops. He really does. Poor Hamish.
ReplyDeleteI once asked you if they were brothers and you said they weren't, but it looks like they adopted each other.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great series of the Watson and Hamish. Pictures say more than words. I hope the operation will help Hamish to funciton better.
ReplyDeleteRegards,
Roos
This post is adorable beyond measure...made me smile endlessly. They are such beautiful creatures. I hope the surgery goes smoothly!
ReplyDeleteFantastic pals and memories for you too. Great final image!
ReplyDeletePoor darling . No wonder he is feeling lost.
