parley view parsnip...

My Monday post about what is going on around my home.
Books !
Handmade Books !
Six books for a handmade project I was participating with Eryl and Titus.
I had the inside pages printed on large paper so it could be one continuous fold but some where in the process communication broke down and it was printed on a gloss paper instead of the matt paper I wanted. So the photos came out fabulous but the folding and feel of the pages is not to my liking.
Thank Goodness, talented bookmaking Daughter stepped in and helped me finish.
Book tied with attached ribbon and a button.
First three pages, my haiku and photo
dragon in the clouds
white rabbit lives in the moon
run run run away and hide
Haiku in Kanji and Japanese, love the way these pages came out
last four pages
The last page is a direct translation of my haiku but not in the 5 7 5 structure.
I so adore this translation.
dragon of the clouds
from the moon escapes
white rabbit
New card I am designing. I like the 9 x 3 1/2 size.
When you pick the right photo, when folded the back becomes as nice as the front.
Inside with another haiku
Folded, tied and ready to put in a envelope to mail.
Saturday moon rises.
This is the proportions I like to use and have quite often.
but when I use the 9 x 31/2 size format it becomes interesting.

  1. As a proud owner, I can say that the book is even more handsome in the flesh. Many, many thanks.

Full moon here too - gorgeous, starry night but very cold.

  7. Oh! «Louis» would love to see these handmade books!
The layout you used reminds him of some he once saw that were made by the Austrian calligrapher Friedrich Neugebauer.
