My Monday post about what is going on around my home...
Saturday afternoon clouds.
Late afternoon quiet, before the evening wind blew in from the west.
Woke up Sunday morning to a golden hazy glow in the air, that looked like gold glitter was tossed in the air.
I couldn't even see the Rincon Mountains to the east of my home.
I first thought that it was fog, but figured it was the dust in the air from Saturday evening.
The morning was very still, with very little breeze so the dust was just suspended.
It was like a curtain of shimmering gold had been drawn across the valley.

Another view of the Catalina Mountains with the golden hazy air that really was very pretty, even if it was dust.
Several hours later the breeze was coming from the south west and was slowly settling the dusty air.
please, put down the camera and throw the ball....

I hope the dust doesn't get on your chest.
ReplyDeleteSweet the way the boys mirror each other's pose.
When ever there is a wind I really suffer it aggravates my Valley Fever. I have cysts in my lungs that activate in dusty weather and it really painful.
DeleteYes, throw the ball already !
Oh but if you put down the camera you wouldn't have these delightful photographs!
ReplyDeleteYes but I am just a servant for my Square Ones !
DeleteYep, we had terrible air here this weekend. It was all hazy and ick. We spent much of it inside or in the back yard with the new pup :)
ReplyDeleteI think Phoenix always has terrible wind storms, weather.
DeleteI have seen the dusty days when you can see just a fog (?) of dust hanging over the valley.... but on Sunday I have never seen it look so pretty.
I can't really describe (photos don't show) how shimmery pretty the morning was. I have never seen it look that beautiful.
Beautiful photographs of a lovely looking spot. Even though it's dust and creates difficulties for some, it also creates a special light. Is it warm enough to swim in your pool in January?
ReplyDeleteIt was a very beautiful morning. Just amazing.
DeleteI wish the pool was warm enough to swim in.
Although our weather this year has been rather too warm getting as high as 70... we need more rain storms ! It will get down to the low 30's but it has mostly been in the 40's. Warm but not warm enough to help heat the pool. I do have to turn on the heater.
Hello Gayle:
ReplyDeleteThe light effects caused by the dust in the air are truly magical, but we note that they cause trouble for your breathing. That is so very distressing. Your photographs have captured the moment beautifully and just look at that charming pair waiting to have fun!!
Thank You and it is so nice to see your wonderful comments popping up again.
DeleteHope all is welll.
Pretty captures of Saturday's clouds, Sunday's unusual soft golden curtain and patiently waiting square ones!
ReplyDeleteHow did they look over at your home ? I think you are more to the east of where I live ?
DeleteEven having problems on Saturday night... it was a beautiful Sunday morning.
Your photos are as wonderful as always! The boys look SO CUTE in the last photo!
ReplyDeleteYes,
DeleteThe Boys are super cute and that is why they don't even jump down any more when they hear me coming. Watson is allowed up but Hamish isn't suppose to be up there.
wahahahahaha....
Looks like Tinkerbell got carried away on Saturday night, beautiful. I can't believe you have gold dust!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! And the lads have their priorities!
ReplyDeleteYou get such gorgeous skies in your neck of the woods!
