My Monday post about what is going on around my home.

Partners in crime ! Mia and Watson

Sunday,
Japanese family landed at LAX

Tuesday,
Drove to Tucson with daughter and a moving truck. She is moving to
Tucson.
Arrived very late that night.

Wednesday,
Daughter, drove to new apartment, unloaded truck.

Thursday,
At 3 AM DIL rushed to Hospital.
Now recovering at home but still ill.
Storm of all storms stalled right over my home, new roof destroyed
over the guest-room bath and entry way !

Friday,
Had to rush Hamish to vet, diabetes and bladder problems worsened.
Roof emergency repair started

Saturday,
Calm,
Used the new Grill for the first time, had lovely dinner

Sunday,
Lazy pool day. More grilling.

Monday
Hamish who spent the weekend at the vets is in surgery today.
Inside room repairs to start so hopefully guest bath is usable again.

The good part
Great family...... everyone jumped in to help.
and
I get to help with a darling granddaughter who is a real joy.
She has never seen the Totoro movie so I was very happy to help out
with that.

The best part Watson is so enamored with her. He has become a mother
hen, is always near her and we have to physically remove him from the
bedroom, so he sleeps outside her door. awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww ! We
let him stay now.
They are partners in adventures. Too bad they can't be together so he
can help her grow up.

  1. Wowza, that is a lot to take in. Is DIL going to be okay? Very sorry to hear this news. Watson guarding Mia is ADORABLE! Glad you've got some more family in Tucson, that has to warm your neart :)

  2. Hello:
That was the week that was!!! Goodness such a lot of drama about which you seem remarkably calm. We do so hope that DIL and Hamish will be well. Your granddaughter looks so serene and, although appearances with small children can be deceptive, we are sure that she is a treasure!!

Wishing you a more peaceful week and that the roof repairs are completed swiftly!

  6. You're exhausting me, but I know this at my advanced age (about to click forward one year on Wednesday): those human connections/experiences (even the less-than-wonderful ones) are what it's all about. Just keep on keeping on . . that's how I get through. Thanks for the break from work-a-day, regular "my-own life" nonsense. All will be well. I believe that.

  7. Sounds as though you had three weeks all rolled in to one there parsnip. Still I expect that grand-daughter makes up for all the trauma.

  8. It never rains but it pours. My best wishes for a speedy recovery to DIL and Hamish.
At least you have many delights to see you through.

Thanks so much for the good wishes.
DIL is not doing great but is better. Trip to Grand Canyon canceled. There is always next year,

Hamish is still at the vets but seems to be doing better, thinking of bringing him home Thursday.

    cheers, parsnip
