Earthquake

.
On my Sunday afternoon, Japan's Monday morning
there was an earthquake, 6.1 in Osaka, right where my family lives.
Son was on a parked train and because of the suspension it was shaking very hard.
Yuko and Mia were home, a day off of her school, thank goodness.
Everyone is fine, happy to say.
There are some fires, broken gas and water pipes.

All the X's are where family lives.

. . .

A Tako (octopus) wearing iwinstons sheriffs hat with two mugs that look like
I could have designed them.

.........

Here is your pretty for the start of the week.

.
Not sure if I have posted these photos before
but here is iwinston chewing on his favorite stick.

Everyone have a nice quiet start to the week.

cheers,  parsnip

  1. Hi, Gayle!

How scary that your family members were at the epicenter of a quake! I am relieved to know they are AOK. I admire the octopus and nicely designed mugs. Nice to see Winston exercising (and sharpening) his mandibles in case lizzerds attack.

Have a wonderful week, dear friend Gayle!

  3. So pleased your family are alright - such a worry when they are far away.

    1. The house they live in backs up to a green hill and that is a worry.

  4. I heard about the earthquake this morning on the radio. It must be scary to be on the train when such large earthquake happens. Glad your family is OK.
Tako is so cute wearing the hat. And what adorable photos of Winston with his favorite stick :-)

  5. Good grief! Thank goodness your family is ok with no major or life threatening damage done! We actually had a wee 2.4 earthquake rumble through here about two weeks ago. (A rare event for NH) Apparently, I slept through it.

I wish my teeth were as shiny and white as that gud dug! X

    1. I lived in California (on an old fault) that would shake. We lived through so many quakes
that they were nothing special. I could tell by the weather and the ants when a quake would happen.
But it only takes a big one that is/will come soon I think. The plates are moving and so many volcanoes erupting. Not good signs.

  6. Glad your family is ok. Every time something happens in Japan I worry. Our daughter says she felt nothing. Love the octopus.
