Square Dog Friday, very bad day and a better one.

Friday, best day of the week because it is
Square Dog Friday !

thehamish went to the vet two weeks ago and he was doing "good" ?
Then a few days ago the shaking started.
Monday, drinking lots of water then throwing it all up.
We zoomed him off to Hospital and his numbers were all over the place.
His diabetes number was 500 alone.
The Doctor got him stabilized, pumped him full of nutrients through a camel pack.
Gave him several shots and of a course pills to take home.
He said he could come home but the Doctor called us the next day, his day off.
.

This is how he spent the next two days !
Sleeping !

On Thursday I thought he felt better so we opened his "BarkBox" and had a little fun.
This month was a Western Theme Box.

The Pug's face come out and you put your sweet baboo's photo in instead.

thehamish does not eat the snacks, he is on a very special diet.
I send them to Bailey who can eat everything and his friends.

.
How cute is this Cactus !
It has a bouncy ball inside and he loves it.

................

Of course as always here is your pretty to start the weekend.
our weather is so strange it was hot then 20 degrees cooler.
What is up ?
The grass does not know what to do.
The winter grass is growing while the summer grass is trying to grow.
So you get this......

A lawn with a split personality.

Little Islands of growing fairy forests in the lawn.
Today is the last day of cooler weather. This weekend it will be in the 90's
then next week starts the 100+ heat.
We have two wildfires in Southern Arizona burning right now, one has been put out.
It will be a long summer. I hope we get our summer rains this year.

  1. It does look as though the Hamish is improving by the time I am reading this. Give him a hug and tell him he is a brave boy from me.

  3. Oh my, thehamish, I'm glad you feel well enough to play with your cactus. You would not want pork and beans anyway because they make everyone gassy. I wish I had shoes with gud dogs.

    Love,

    1. Not real pork and beans, the snacks are all made in the USA and these are wheat, corn and soy free.
Made with pork, garbanzo beans and maple syrup.

  8. Poor Hamish, but he is lucky to have boxes of treats to investigate and a loving home! The grass certainly looks strange. Weather's odd everywhere these days, isn't it?

  9. I hope sweet Hamish is feeling better. It looks like he's enjoying his Bark Box. What a cute idea!

Maybe the rains will come and the wildfires won't be so bad this summer. Your lawn certainly looks confused!

  10. The lawn made me laugh as that is what's going on here too. So glad Ham is better. I asked my vet if I could use a human diabetes test kit to test Sister's insulin levels. I can't remember what she told me, but you can get one for Ham that isn't too expensive. Poor boy. Happy he's better.

  11. I am glad that The Hamish got such joy out of the box of goodies he got, even if some of them were things that wouldn't work for him. I don't know why anyone would manufacture dog food treats with beans in them unless they included a container of air freshener in the package. The little cactus toy sure made Hamish happy. He has a cute smile.

My Fuzzy Pom loves for anyone in the family, including him, to get packages delivered. He gets as excited about his doggie wee wee pads, or dog food as he does about doggie toys in the package.. He even gets excited about my mail order Glucerna shakes when they are delivered because he likes the long snake-ish brown paper that they pack in the box to keep stuff from shifting around. He played for about an hour with that paper packing the last time, tearing around the house dragging it along with him.

I wish they could figure out how to help Hamish so he wouldn't have such blood sugar problems. He's such a Gud Dog.

I must admit I play with him and that.
I also keep small squeakie toys to throw in the boxes I get for him to find.

  12. It sounds like your vet is a real jewel. Exactly what thehamish deserves. I'm glad he's feeling better. That cactus toy is adorable.

Have a super weekend. It's hot here, too, and south GA is full of wild fires. The drought continues, so when we finally got some rain a couple weeks ago, I ran outside like an idiot and washed my car. (We have strict outdoor watering restrictions in place because of the drought.) I remembered how "fun" it was to do that when I was a kid. It's not fun anymore. HA! Never again.

    1. Sorry to hear about your fires. I have lived with them allmy life but I get tired of all the destruction.
When it rains here I go outside and stand in it. Heaven !

  14. Hi, Gayle!

It is nice to reconnect with you, dear friend. I have been reading the headlines of your posts and getting the gist of what's happening in your life. I am grateful for your visit to SDMM.

I am very sorry thehamish was poorly again. My Toto guzzled water and threw it up near the end of her life. I hope the doctor can keep thehamish on an even keel. We had Toto on a special diet of lamb and potato for a couple of years to combat her skin rash problems and all it did was leave her feeling deprived of the foods she craved. It's great to see thehamish up and at ’em and poking his curious sniffer into boxes and bags. I love his "BarkBox" and that plush cactus is the cutest thing ever! I wish I could have found one for Toto.

The heat is on here in Central Florida, too. Our winter was too short, too warm and too dry. Yesterday we got our first decent rain in many months.

Please take good care of yourself and thehamish and have a good weekend, dear friend Gayle!
