parley view parsnip. . . weekend

 Weekend stuff.
.
Last years tomatoes died off or so we thought. We still haven't cleaned
the side yard yet this year  ( I have been sick too long)  but mamy plants grew back anyways.
The one tomato that is growing is from a dead dried up plant that sent out one green shoot
this year and it has produced lots of tomatoes so far.
We grow them tough in the desert.
.

 It is just growing wild.
You can see the other dead tomato plant in the background.

I have my own purple rain.
But in a few weeks it will bloom again.

 Saturday sunset.

  2. Hi, Gayle!

The case of Chicken Jerky Dog Treats that thehamish secretly ordered from Amazon has arrived! :)

Isn't it amazing how a seemingly dead plant can bounce back, even in a harsh environment with little or no care? You know what they say. "Where there's life there's hope."

Have a wonderful week, dear friend Gayle!

  3. Cute! An on-line shopping dog. Hope you're doing better. As for my garden, I had to take everything up. We're on top of a sink hole.

  4. Parsnip, I was wondering if you had self-seeding tomato plants. The only time I ever grew my own tomatoes, I did start them from seeds.

I was also wondering if the cloud painting on your wall was painted by you. It looks very beautiful.

The hamish clearly can click with the best of them.

I do like that particular Beatles tune, and many others, too. xo

    1. It is a stalk (?) growing out from the dead plant. Son waters them so who knows. They died in our very short winter last year.
Yes, that is a very old painting of mine. One of the few I did sitting outside, finished inside though. It has been in several homes.

  6. Oh, thehamish! How you make me laugh with your naughty shopping. You know perfectly well that those boxes are filled with doggy treats and toys for you, thehamish. I love tomatoes. The dog of my life, Faulkner (who died in 2010 at age thirteen), adored tomatoes. When he was a fairly new member of our family, he once stood up behind my chair at the kitchen table, stuck his long collie snout over my shoulder, and took a big bite of the sandwich I was eating. Tomato was sticking out of it. I knew that was what he wanted. For the rest of his life, I shared my tomatoes with him. He also loved watermelon and honeydew melon and some other fruits. On the last day of his life, thank God I shared my watermelon with him. Okay. Now I'll cry. I shouldn't have written about it. It's okay. Franklin and Penelope will kiss me. I love you and thehamish and his one click ordering. Please ask him not to teach my dogs how to do that.

    Love,
    Janie

    2. Before Watson when to sleep, while waiting for the vet to come to our home I made pancakes. Watson's favorite Adam laid on the floor with Watson and feed him tiny pieces of pancakes. I haven't made any pancakes since.

  7. Too funny, I live in fear that Miss Kitty will discover one-click shopping. I had no idea that tomatoes were that tenacious, ours are definitely weak sisters. Hugs for the Hamish.

  9. Wow, they sure are tough tomatoes!
So thehamish ordered something for himself. Hahaha :-) I have a feeling that box contains lots of lots of chkikin's sitting on the new pillow! Don't let my boys know how he did that :-)

He has a hard time with the number keys. So even if he knew the credit card number
    he can't type it in.

    1. I know how lucky am I. I am just not able to even garden in pots anymore.
With son's help we will clean up the tiny garden and grow one tomato and some herbs and flowers. I think a tomato plant son planted last year is still growing if we can untangle it.
thehamish is not a huge box dog. Only when he is doing performance art.

    1. Pretty good, though I see Louie's reply printed twice. Thinking of you, out here in Albuquerque, where Louie and Panda are spending the summer as I finish up on the condo. Louie HATES it, as does Panda, mostly because there isn't a lawn, and there aren't dogs that walk on leashes like him, and...and... it's not California.
