Weekend stuff.
.
Last years tomatoes died off or so we thought. We still haven't cleaned
the side yard yet this year ( I have been sick too long) but mamy plants grew back anyways.
The one tomato that is growing is from a dead dried up plant that sent out one green shoot
this year and it has produced lots of tomatoes so far.
We grow them tough in the desert.
.
It is just growing wild.
You can see the other dead tomato plant in the background.
I have my own purple rain.
But in a few weeks it will bloom again.
Saturday sunset.

DeleteHi, Gayle!
ReplyDeleteThe case of Chicken Jerky Dog Treats that thehamish secretly ordered from Amazon has arrived! :)
Isn't it amazing how a seemingly dead plant can bounce back, even in a harsh environment with little or no care? You know what they say. "Where there's life there's hope."
Have a wonderful week, dear friend Gayle!
i thehamish may or not push the button for chkikin
DeleteCute! An on-line shopping dog. Hope you're doing better. As for my garden, I had to take everything up. We're on top of a sink hole.
ReplyDeleteI plant in pots in the side yard. helps keep the plants in and critters out
DeleteParsnip, I was wondering if you had self-seeding tomato plants. The only time I ever grew my own tomatoes, I did start them from seeds.
ReplyDeleteI was also wondering if the cloud painting on your wall was painted by you. It looks very beautiful.
The hamish clearly can click with the best of them.
I do like that particular Beatles tune, and many others, too. xo
It is a stalk (?) growing out from the dead plant. Son waters them so who knows. They died in our very short winter last year.
DeleteYes, that is a very old painting of mine. One of the few I did sitting outside, finished inside though. It has been in several homes.
I do like your painting very much! xo
DeleteThank You very much.
DeleteThose tomatoes look yummy !
ReplyDeleteOh thehamish - not so gud dug buyin' pillows an' chkikin online !
i thehamish is thinkin' that tomatoes not gud like chkikin'
DeleteOh, thehamish! How you make me laugh with your naughty shopping. You know perfectly well that those boxes are filled with doggy treats and toys for you, thehamish. I love tomatoes. The dog of my life, Faulkner (who died in 2010 at age thirteen), adored tomatoes. When he was a fairly new member of our family, he once stood up behind my chair at the kitchen table, stuck his long collie snout over my shoulder, and took a big bite of the sandwich I was eating. Tomato was sticking out of it. I knew that was what he wanted. For the rest of his life, I shared my tomatoes with him. He also loved watermelon and honeydew melon and some other fruits. On the last day of his life, thank God I shared my watermelon with him. Okay. Now I'll cry. I shouldn't have written about it. It's okay. Franklin and Penelope will kiss me. I love you and thehamish and his one click ordering. Please ask him not to teach my dogs how to do that.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
mum nice tall person who feed us said no more amazon
Deletemum and i thehamish is sorry you are cryin' don't' be doing that
mum nice tall person who feeds us is cry now too
woof thehamish and mum
Before Watson when to sleep, while waiting for the vet to come to our home I made pancakes. Watson's favorite Adam laid on the floor with Watson and feed him tiny pieces of pancakes. I haven't made any pancakes since.
DeleteToo funny, I live in fear that Miss Kitty will discover one-click shopping. I had no idea that tomatoes were that tenacious, ours are definitely weak sisters. Hugs for the Hamish.
ReplyDeleteNever show them how to use the computer !
Deletecheers, parsnip and thehamish
Computers are easy for such smart critters to figure out, and before you know it, doggie beds and scratching posts are infesting your every room.
ReplyDeletescratching post gud but chkikin' better
DeleteWow, they sure are tough tomatoes!
ReplyDeleteSo thehamish ordered something for himself. Hahaha :-) I have a feeling that box contains lots of lots of chkikin's sitting on the new pillow! Don't let my boys know how he did that :-)
Son waters so who knew what happened but boy do I have tomatoes.
DeleteI love homegrown tomatoes! Lucky you. And that naughty boy, Hamish....ordering a chikkin strips by the case....with nice tall person's credit card, no doubt!
ReplyDeleteThe magic one click button.
ReplyDeleteHe has a hard time with the number keys. So even if he knew the credit card number
he can't type it in.
Score. I'd be tickled to find a tomato growing like that. They're my favorite in the garden.
ReplyDeleteThis plant produced ok last year, but this year it is going crazy.
DeleteFrom just one green shoot growing from the stem of the dry dead plant.
Hmmm...are those boxes full of things Hamish ordered online?
ReplyDeleteummmmmm nice tall person who likin' minions
Deletenot sayin' but
i thehamish may or may not havein' been orderin' some things
nice boxed just come for i thehamish
I wouldn't mind having some volunteer tomatoes!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm wondering if Hamish was really wanting the boxes rather than the contents!
I know how lucky am I. I am just not able to even garden in pots anymore.
DeleteWith son's help we will clean up the tiny garden and grow one tomato and some herbs and flowers. I think a tomato plant son planted last year is still growing if we can untangle it.
thehamish is not a huge box dog. Only when he is doing performance art.
I can only imagine the delicious taste of those tomatoes ripened in such sun.
ReplyDeleteThat Hamish might be getting on in years but he is into everything!!
I know fresh tomatoes are just the best.
ReplyDeleteAnd thehamish is always interested in everything.
Baroooo wooof woooof wooof bark bark bark! Grrroooowwwllll hiccup... barooooo
ReplyDeletefunny, how the heck are you !
DeletePretty good, though I see Louie's reply printed twice. Thinking of you, out here in Albuquerque, where Louie and Panda are spending the summer as I finish up on the condo. Louie HATES it, as does Panda, mostly because there isn't a lawn, and there aren't dogs that walk on leashes like him, and...and... it's not California.
DeleteBaroooo wooof woooof wooof bark bark bark! Grrroooowwwllll hiccup... barooooo
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely tomatoes!
ReplyDeleteDO YOU GE THAT INCREDIBLE TOMATO SMELL FROM YOURS? OURS ARE ODOURLESS JUST NOW AND PRETTY TASTELESS TOO. LOVE THE PURPLE RAIN.
ReplyDeleteThat one click buy botton, is a clever tool.
ReplyDeleteYes, I've had tomatoes and all kinds of veggies grow back the next year. It's the best. So yum.
