Wednesday in Japan and other places. . .

Just a few random photos here and there.
.
Daughter made a Sushi dinner for her friends Birthday.
.
She made "Push Sushi" one of my favorite Sushi I had in Japan.
She used salmon and cucumber.
Quickly what this is.... rice is pushed into a box, an oily fish is next,
cover with a top and pushed again.
The sushi is cut into rectangles and the wrapped in Persimmon  leaves.
So good. The persimmon leaves keep it safe from spoiling.
.

Thank goodness when Daughter sent me the photos, Son was taking me to
sushi dinner the same day or I would have gone crazy.

 .

ummmmmmm I forgot to take photos of the rest of dinner.
Take my word it was wonderful.

Can you guess what this is ?
The light from the ceiling was shining on the table.
Just look at the above photo to see the light on the table.
Very syfy and just wonderful !

And of course just because I can here is your mid-week pretty

  1. Does the Ham like sushi? I do. We are getting a new sushi restaurant in farm town, but I have deep reservations so far from the sea (and civilization.)

    1. Check it out. It could be good. Remember they will need to fly it in and the best days to try it would be on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
thehamish loved rice and fish but it is not on his diet now.

    1. Not exactly authentic as far as sushi chef training goes but it's still fun, and certainly a loving view of the cuisine.

  4. Drooling on my keyboard. It all looks so yummy. We are so very far away from any authentic sushi restaurant and I'm fumble fingered when I try to do it myself at home. It's an art! Hugs to you and thehamish. X

    1. I understand the dislike of sushi and that's just fine. Not everyone has to like the same thing.
But it is very gud !

  11. The sushi looks delicious! Coincidentally, I met a dear friend for a sushi lunch yesterday. We opted for the bento box luncheon special, and all was delightful.
