Japanese vending machines !

Japanese vending machines !, originally uploaded by angryparsnip.

There are many things I adore about Japan...
One of my top favorite things besides Oshibori (the warm soft towels
you get before you eat) are Vending Machines !

They are everywhere (thank goodness) they sell everything and I mean
almost everything
from soft drinks, beer, coffee/tea, liquor, rice, books, toys,
clothing and food.

Above vending machine is from my favorite car ferry, the Tako Ferry.
They sell the expected soft drinks but also 24 Hour Hot Food !
This photo was taken on the covered deck at the front of the ferry.
Someone near me had bought the #5 and although I don't know how it
tasted ? but it looked really good.

  1. All these vending machines and their contents are so interesting. American Vending is now very boring. You have captured so much about Japan. You have a knack.

  2. I've recently got familiar with a vending machine at our consultant's rooms and the teas and various coffees are excellent.

  3. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Looks like you are in Japan ... have fun there!

  4. It sure is fun and convenient to buy things from vending machines. The ones around here aren't very interesting. Our country could learn a lot from Japan. :D

  5. Carole...
I thought I would really dislike seeing vending machines everywhere but they seem to fit and My Goodness so fabulous. I will bore everyone with my favorite vending machine story soon...

one of my favorite not sweet lemon soda is stocked in many machines.

I have checked every once and awhile to see if I missed a post... so happy that my blog reader worked and your post popped up today.
I am back for now but going back in the spring.

Our vending machines are so boring... and you would be shocked on how wonderful the "7/11" in Japan are. Clean, tasty food and drinks and really stocked with what you need. I really love the "Lawsons" even more if possible.

  6. Going back in the spring!?!? I better start cleaning now!

  7. David...
Well I think so but will see what the body and doctor says !
    Start the cleaning engines !

  8. Love these vending machines.

Reminds me of the old Horn & Hardart automats.

  9. Kass...
I wonder what the Japanese tourist think when they see our feeble machines.
But we have Target stores and they love them but don't have any in Japan yet. They do have Ikea...
