This week has been very quiet. 

Eye doctor visits different meds and just really feeling not so spiffy.

It sorta belonged to Jabba the cat when I lived in Laguna Beach
Watson loved Jabba and I think maybe remembers that
Jabba sometimes napped in here ?

Rain Fire Pluto and a Horned Melon !

Monsoons in Tucson is always filled with some excitement.

Both good and bad.

The last few day has held both.

Summer storms are filled with wind, rain, hail, lighting and lots of thunder.

The native people call this the man rain. Lots of noise and destruction.

The winter rains are usually soft and nourishing call the female rains.

This week we have had it all. Fast moving storms filled with lots of lighting strikes.

On the west end of the Catalina mountains (about 25 minutes from me) is the Buster Fire.

Started by several lighting strikes, in a rocky terrain in a high elevation wilderness area.

The fire is being watched but no crews have been dispatched. The fire is burning old excessive brush and cleaning up the area.

This is also an habitat for Big Horned Sheep.  Officials have been monitoring the sheep GPS coordinates through their collars.

The fire has spread and as of yesterday doubled in size.

update:
For everyone who asked. the veg/fruit
I used was the Horned melon.

 You can eat the seeds (bland) but what you want is the sweet green jelly like fruit
around the seeds. It is sort of a cucumber and kiwis mix.

Weekend update.

Saturday was Independence Day in America.

This quote is from Erma Bombeck sums the day up perfectly.

You have to love a nation that celebrates it's independence every July 4th,
not with a parade of guns, tanks and soldiers who file by the White House
in a show of strength and muscle
but with familly picnics where kids throw Frisbees,
the potatoe salad gets iffy and the flies dies from happiness.
You may think you have overeaten but it is patriotism.

As a child growing up in the 40's and 50's I was
"Posh" and didn't even know it.
When we wanted a snack and didn't want a piece of fruit we made toast.
Warm toast with butter and a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar, 
peanut butter and jam, or just some jam
maybe thin slices of cheddar cheese.
with or with out honey.
Now the latest culinary trend on each coast is Toast !
Toast served with all sorts of "new and wonderful" choices.
Toast served with your choice of home made toppings. From nut butters,
jellies, sweet cream butter and cinnamon sugar, artisinal cheeses
or creamy slices of avocado.

This was my Sunday breakfast.

OMG I am a posh hipster. Who knew ?
