Daughter's Prickly Pear Cactus

The fruit so good too many glochids or spines.

The very tasty Prickly Pear Syrup.

Plus her fabulous Hot Sauce.

She also made Summer Vegetable Stew with Baked Tofu.

Here is your pretty or wierd for the start of the weekend.

..
Now that the Monsoons are here, after the Bighorn Fire,  this is what  we
we get to deal with. Flash Flooding!
This was just a gentle rain, oh no ! ! !
We had a huge storm on Thursday Morning the washes have become rivers.
Mud, branches, rocks and lots of other stuff. come flowing down.
This is a small wash like the one near my home at the edge of my property.
The Swift Water Rescue, Sheriffs and Fire Department rescued 14 people in one morning.
People are dumb.

Take Care Be Safe.
cheers,  parsnip

  1. Poor Winston must be very tired of his Elizabethan collar. What a time you are having, the creeping black wash looks very threatening. Lovely looking cacti, not to mention the tasty things to be made from them!

  2. Wow! You are getting too many extremes....Beautiful cacti. We could grow them here in northeast Ohio. They can handle the climate. But I could not handle them...Poor IWinston. But soon, soon, I hope the collar can come off. He and Agatha will be happier. You will be happier! Be well!

  4. I'll just focus on the prickly pear syrup and Winston getting the cone removed.

  7. Holy smokes...watching that black, nasty wash move down the hill made my skin crawl. I cannot imagine getting caught up in that mess!

The Prickly Pear Cactus is so very pretty! And I did not know you can make so many yummy things out of the fruit.

How I wish this was all over and back to normal for you and the furries! Hang in there and hugs to those gud dugs too. X

  8. Aww sweet Winston, I hope his cone can come off soon. He looks cozy in his soft bed, though :-) And I know he is getting the best care. I hope he will make a quick recovery.
