  1. Hi, Gayle!

While others cry "rain, rain, go away!" folks like us who live in sizzling states usually welcome it. I admire those pictures of your cloud shrouded mountains. I would love to dig into those culinary delights. Everything looks delicious and I intend to show Mrs. Shady and hopefully inspire her to whip up something similar. We both love figs!

It's great to see a pic of security guard Winston on duty and on the alert for trespassers and to see his friend, fox-tailed Truffles.

Have a wonderful week, dear friend Gayle!

  2. Surely all those clouds cooled it off there. It has been gray here for days. I am ready for the sun to come out. I love sushi. When I saw that hard boiled egg I thought thousand year old egg. Maybe that is Chinese. Pups look happy so it all sounds good there. I haven't had a fig like that and would love to try it. Is it one of those with pink inside? I've had the green ones, but not those watermelon colored ones.

    1. We had some nice wet weather. back hot but it is cooling off.
They are mission figs or black figs, such a beautiful deep magenta pink inside. I really like Tiger Figs the best though.

  3. Such beautiful photos and that Bento box...Yum! IWinston is so noble in that photo and yes, Truffles does indeed have an adorable 'foxy' tail.

We currently have a beautiful Red Fox who has taken up residence in a den on the periphery of our property. He (or she) is single handedly taking care of our overwhelming surplus population of squirrels and chipmunks. It's such a gorgeous but cautious creature. I cannot get a photo but will keep trying. :-) X

  5. Suck beautiful photos of the sky! And the dishes look so yummy. Now I got craving for chirashi zushi :-) That’s a lot of figs. They are not very common? I’ve eaten figs only a few times in the past.
Love the fox like tail of Truffle! Winston sure looks very regal. Trouble? No way...right? :-)

    1. Daughter makes it often she is a Vegetarian/Vegan who eats some fish and egg. Her roomate can't eat many foods so this is the best diet for her.

  6. Winston would like to state for the record that any rumour that he is "so much trouble" has yet to be proven in a court of law.

    Beautiful clouds around the heights!
