When it rains . . .

Today
News from my Son early this morning.

Family lives right outside of Osaka (about where the red is) where it has been raining for
several days. Warning are up and shelters open.
Their home backs up to a beautiful hillside overlooking Osaka. Yuko and Mia have moved to Grandmothers home. David has stayed to watch out for the neighbors.
.
This morning I looked east and see some smokey air. Sure enough Redington Pass has a new fast moving fire.  This fire is half way between Daughters home (just bought haven move into yet)
and my home.

.
Fire is about where the "E" in Redington is.
Plus today will be very hot 107 to 118.

Winston woofs ! He doesn't understand why he can't go out
and if he does go out why does he want to come back in right away.
Wurf !
cheers,  parsnip

The weather's extreme everywhere, it seems. We've had excessive heat warnings for days now.

    1. Gosh me also, Japan is far away.
I saw the heat map last night and you all have too much heat. We all know what to do but so many who don't have this kind if heat do not.
I hope you and Collin are fine !

  5. It is very hot here too Gayle and there have been a couple of very serious fires. It is all worrying. It seems this heat is in the whole of the Northern Hemisphere.

  7. I'm not a hot person, so I am enduring it and trying to embrace summer. Just back from the farm with tick bites all over me. Sometimes a fire would be a blessing, but a controlled one. Mother nature does seem to be on a rampage the world over.

  8. Hope your family in Japan is safe and that the rain l yes up and that your daughter's house is safe. Can't believe how hot you are, we've cooled to the 80's. We even sat out last night to place with sparklers.

  9. I was wondering how your daughter was. I must find out where she is living.
So envious of you sitting outside. It will be cooler tomorrow. We got a sprinkle of rain this afternoon.not enough for anything but the air smelled so great

  11. Just got a text from my daughter and at 11am it was 110 in Burbank, CA!!! I'm sitting in our breakfast room here in Savannah listening to the thunder, watching the sky become progressively darker and waiting for the rain to come again. Stay safe and I hope for the best for your family in Japan! xox

  12. I think Japan is having the rain that should be here. It's been very hot and dry here on the whole for some days now. Usually in Britain you get one bright sunny day, one slightly cloudier day, another even cloudier day and then rain. Well I am exaggerating but only a little ! :)

  15. Dear Parsnip, I hope that you and yours stay safe during this extreme weather. It's way over 20c here and I'm skulking indoors while outside plants in the garden shrivel and die. It just isn't very Blighty!
