  1. Winston holding up his paw is cute. Makes me think you might have asked, "who's a sweetie?"

    He's all ears!

    1. He hasn't grown into his ears yet. When we get him groomed, the ear hair will be trimmed.

  2. If you need any tips on working security, Mandibles, you can ask Franklin and Penelope. They are very good at that job. I think being cute is enough, though.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. I think the tips would go over his head as he would be playing with beautiful Penelope and handsome Franklin.

  3. Hi, Gayle!

Crime dog McGruff ain't got nuthin' on he theWinston. Clearly your Square Dog security officer is prepared to stand his ground and take a bite out of crime (and Shady's pants leg). Be sure to pay him handsomely in his favorite currency - chkikin'. As he theWinston works hard to crack his first case and find out who is diggin' in nice tall person rocks, he theWinston promises to leave no stone unturned. :)

Tell he theWinston that great minds think alike. My favorite color is green, too.

I'm delighted to know you enjoyed a fine Thanksgiving dinner, Gayle. Have a great weekend, dear friend!

  4. I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving and not too sad.
My baby daughter died before the Holidays and it was very hard. But I had a young son and wanted to treat him to a wonderful Christmas.

    1. I am so sorry to learn of your loss all those years ago, dear Gayle. My dad died on Christmas Day and it put a damper on Christmas ever since. It was very sweet of you to offer condolences when I suffered a loss recently, and I also want to tell you how much I appreciated you noticing that Kirk and I are following each other. He is actually the only male blog friend I have at the present time and I am grateful that we met through your blog.

    2. I am so happy that you found each other blogs. Both of you are very interesting.

  5. If one can be killed by cuteness then Winston will be great at security. I read recently that dogs can see certain colors, maybe he can see the green. If it's an In a Garten recipe it's bound to be good.
So sorry to hear of your loss of a child, how hard for you to have to go on with the holidays.

    1. It was a very sad time. One of the first reasons I really took a hard look at my x. What a huge jerk. It was hard but one step at a time.
That was nice of you to think of Nicole.

  6. I've gotta say, Winston is the cutest security dog I've ever seen. Not at all scary or intimidating. If I saw him running towards me, I'd just want to hug him.

It's really interesting how he picks toys of the same color to play with. Must be a sign of superior intelligence. I hope he finds the nefarious stone digger. Surely, it was some OTHER critter.

    Have a super weekend.

  7. Thinking is hard cracks me up. Winston rhymes with Einstein. So there, nice tall person!

  8. What a clever Winston, knowing his colors so well! And ambitious, too, I see. I bet he'll be a very hard worker!

Yum! If I weren't so stuffed still from our own Thanksgiving, my mouth would be watering and I'd have to go to the kitchen for a snack. That picture should go on a menu!

    1. The light was a bit dull, it was a great dinner. I like it better the day after.
I bet your spoon bread is so much better. This is just a dump it in a bowl from
      Jiffy cornbread mix.

  9. How interesting that he favors a particular color. I've never heard of a dog doing that.

Aside: my daughter collects water bottles. For whatever reason, she can't have enough of them. And they're all the same color: green!

  14. Winston is utterly adorable! As is his preference for a single colour at a time.

Please forgive me for being so neglectful, I seem, these days, to only be able to do one thing at a time so blogging has been sidelined as I've tried to get on top of a couple of practical problems. However, I now have a fully operational computer again, and it's winter so no gardening to keep me away from it. X
