parley view parsnip. . . the kitchen sink

Monday in Tucson.
Spring is here too soon, blue skies, sun, everything starting the bloom.

Sounds great but February is our winter.
Every few days the rain we need in the valley, snow in the mountains.
Then sun and blue skies for a few days.
But we are starting spring too early, we need more rain.
.
Just a few random photos from the last few weeks.
.
Javelinas visiting the two small ponds I have in the east side yard.
 .

 .

About 7 of the Javelinas having a dust bath after a quick swim.

I love them, they are a hoot !
.

 Beautiful skies.

 Evening in the backyard.

Sunset clouds, I wish I could really tell you how much better this was in real time.
The colors were so much brighter and glowing.
I only use my phone camera now.

...................

And of course just besides I can, here is your pretty to start the week.

Watson always napped in the sun on the cool floor here in my kitchen nook.
thehamish is now napping here alone.
.
thehamish is going to the eye specialist today.
Still on my quest to find a reason for his episodes
.
Everyone have great start to the week.

  1. I do so love seeing pictures of your surroundings, so different to mine here and yet all part of the same big world. Love the Cactus and the pic of the lights on in the darkness of the valley with the silhouette of the mountains behind. Also love thehamish pictures, as you know. Weather OK here, not unseasonal anyway x

I love looking at all the blogs I follow when they take photos of their yards.

    1. They are cute and the babies are walking loafs of hairy bread but both have teeth that can rip your face off. Very protective of the family group.

  4. I have a little metal javelina. They look like the feral hogs around here. Do people eat them there? Me, I'm not eating anything wild, though the husband eats deer and feral hog at his cabin.

    1. They are their own group and part of their family has the hippo in it !
They are peccary's and not pigs.
When I was much younger, we had friends who were hunters. So I ate, javelinas ribs, quail and doves.

    1. He would find where Watson was sleeping in the sun and snuggle in next to him.

  7. Hi, Gayle!

I love those pictures of the javelinas! I wish I had them in my back yard. Your pics remind me of the javelina herd Mrs. Shady and I saw on our vacation in Tuscon. They were all stretched out in the shade snoozing to avoid the 105 degree midday heat.

Those skyscapes look like artist's renderings - stunning! I'm sorry that thehamish needs to snooze alone. I hope his visit with the eye specialist provided some answers for you.

Have a great week, dear friend Gayle!

  10. The Javelinas are soooo cute! I love their big faces :-)
Such beautiful photos of the sky. The golden color of sunset cloud is incredible! And the night view of your backyard is so lovely.
I hope the visit to specialist went well. It's really hard not be able to identify the cause of issues. I hope you get to figure out the cause of thehamish's episodes.

Have a happy new week xoxo

  11. I love when you post the javelinas on the blog because I can show my students who always have the best reactions to the photos. They just can't believe it.
